Villas Corcovado is a gorgeous contemporary tropical estate located within the exclusive Golfo Dulce region. This fully operational and turnkey hotel is the perfect business opportunity for new hoteliers.
Private, secure and gated, the hotel offers 7-quaint and stylish tropical-themed villas plus a master villa, all surrounding a pool, spacious, manicured grounds, and a quarter of a mile of private beachfront!
This charming boutique hotel is located in one of Costa Rica’s most biodiverse regions, both on land and in the water. Home to migrating whales of many species, the Golfo Dulce provides endless entertainment to the marine inclined. Fishing tours are the highlight of this region and an excellent opportunity awaits for those with an entrepreneurial spirit!
A palette of neutral and natural materials throughout beautifully complement the indoor/outdoor living spaces. The villas were designed by an Argentinian craftsman, bringing a unique, natural feel with refined finishes.
Top ranking hotel with dedicated staff and room to expand
Villas Corcovado offer luxurious accommodations, particularly welcome after long days spent exploring the nearby wonder of Corcovado National Park or playing in the gulf’s waters. Spread over a hill that descends into the gulf and separated by fragrant ylang ylang trees, the eight private villas impart a sense of absolute isolation. Each villa is unique in décor – a taste of teak here, a touch of bamboo there – but alike in class, with beautifully finished hardwood floors and vaulted ceilings.
Six of the rental villas are 1550 ft2 with two bedrooms and a private balcony. One of the seven is a deluxe, two story villa with three bedrooms, all with private balconies. There is a large swimming pool (80×30 ft2) at the center of the complex for the guests to share and plenty of land to build another.
The resort also features a separate building with an industrial grade kitchen and functioning restaurant, bar and lounge. This area has its own office space from which to manage the business. The property also features a private staff house, which has two bedrooms.
The garden area is lush with tropical flora, palm and banana trees. The pool and garden area also features a covered patio where guests can enjoy a cocktail, BBQ and breakfast in the morning from the full kitchen.
The master owner’s villa has five bedrooms and four bathrooms, each with equally stunning design to the rental villas. Screened windows abound and French doors open onto large porches, where jungles ounds and views can be enjoyed.Even the bathrooms invite nature’s participation – where the tiles end, the jungle life begins. Foliage is planted around the showers, followed by bamboo and screen walls that, combined with the howling monkeys outside, recall a refined-version of a jungle camp.
The property includes a completed study of environmental impact which grants permission to build a total of 25 villas. It features two fresh water springs that produce 300,000 and 750,000 litres of pure spring water every 24 hours. There are a total of three reservoirs of drinking water capable of holding more than 140,000 liters.
What it’s like to visit
This boutique hotel currently caters to couples, families, small groups, and single travelers who want to relax by the beach with full amenities available at hand. The business is facilitated by a small and dedicated staff who manage the hotel with ease and efficiency. There is also room for expansion should the new owner wish to expand the business.
In small tropical countries such as Costa Rica, extraordinarily amazing beachfront properties can be very hard to find, let alone be available for purchase. This 64.5 acre development or hotel property may be the finest titled beachfront property available in the Southern Zone or even all of Costa Rica based on its stunning ocean views, soft sand beaches, and azure blue water.
Because the hotel is located in the Golfo Dulce Forest Reserve, between Corcovado National Park and Las Esquinas and Piedras Blancas national parks, this property is along an important biological corridor and migratory path. In addition to tours on its own property, Villas Corcovado offers day trips through the Neotropical Foundation’s property to Corcovado National Park, often touted as one of the most biodiverse areas on earth. Among thousands of other species, the more than 54,000 hectares (133,439 acres) of lush, mountainous, tropical forests of Corcovado are also one of the last strongholds of the mighty jaguar.
Matching the biodiversity on land, Villa Corcovado is also bordered by the aquatic diversity of the Golfo Dulce. Plate tectonics have made the Golfo Dulce the tenth deepest gulf in the world and one of four tropical fjords (a narrow arm of the sea between high cliffs) on the planet. This has created a body of water where open-ocean fish like tuna, dorado and swordfish can be found near 5,600-year-old coral reefs that attract myriad other species. Sport fishing tours can therefore be enjoyed in the morning, and snorkeling in the afternoon. The gulf’s depths of up to 200 meters also make the waters a passing ground for whales, when teaching their young to hunt. Whale-watching tours also allow guests to swim with hundreds of resident bottle-nosed and spotted dolphins.
Villas Corcovado is a remote hotel in the middle of the tropical jungle but it is still easy to access. Puerto Jimenez Airport is 23 miles on a newly paved highway, or you can take a 30 minute boat trip from Golfito across the calm waters of the Golfo Dulce. There are also daily flights to and from Puerto Jimenez.
